Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Tino Hausotte is the head of the Chair of Manufacturing Metrology (FMT) at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). In 2002 he received his doctorate at the Ilmenau University of Technology on the topic “Nanopositioning and Nanomeasuring Machine” and in 2011 he was habilitated at the Ilmenau University of Technology on the topic: “Nanopositioning and Nanomeasuring Machines – Devices for highprecision macro to nanoscale surface and coordinate measurements”. From 1995 to 2011, he worked at the Ilmenau University of Technology and in 2011 he was appointed as University Professor to the Chair of Manufacturing Metrology at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg.
He is member of the German VDI/VDE-GMA Technical Committee 4.31 Coordinate Measuring Machines and DIN NA 152-03-02-12 UA Coordinate Measuring Technology and additional of VDI/VDE-GMA Technical Committees: 1.20 Measurement Uncertainty and Inspection Process Qualification, 4.22 Surface metrology in the μm and nm range, 4.33 CT in Dimensional Metrology. He is committee member of the ISO/TC 213/WG 10 – Coordinate Measuring Machines and ISO/TC 213/WG 4 – Uncertainty of measurement and decision rules.
His research activities focus on meso-, micro- and nanoscale as well as cross-scale surface, contour, form and coordinate metrology with tactile, optical and X-ray computed tomography measuring methods and measurement uncertainty evaluation.
The title of the conference lecture: “Test of conformance or non-conformance with geometrical specifications using results of Monte Carlo simulations”.
